I fully agree with that. And let's don't forget this: In this challange ALL ARE WINNERS!

First because all the neat freebies people has contributed.

Secondary because of the money prize that goes to the best who deserved it.

Third because of all non cash prizes ppl have donated.

And fourth because some nice guy at ProSounds donates 1 copy of a cd to the ppl who don't won any prize.

Like I said b4, pass it on Urs (or the Karma gods will get ya )
Ooh I think he got a bit excited seing all the cash and hoped for the first prize to him... Even SANE FM didn't come close enough. So I'll grab my non cash prize with happiness!

for what its worth here were my final votes:

1 triple cheese
2 balthor grand
3 ritual
4 anna
5 grizzly

I actually had votes for other plugins.. but they ended up being so unstable that I had to ditch them from my list.. there were just too many plugins that could have been in my top5 that I kind of feel bad that I couldnt vote for them all in some way :(

my problem was that I only use Intel Mac so that limited me to only 3 plugins to try. Triple Cheese, Fire and Pondular. When I went to vote I realized I couldn't. And I wouldn't want to anyways having just sampled 3 of the bunch. Doesn't seem like it could be fair to the whole group. There were so many that seemed intriguing... I'm not sure what to suggest to fix this problem. Maybe PC and Mac separately? In one year most plugs will be Universal I guess.

Pardon? Maybe I've missed some important piece of news here, but what?

I'd like to say thanks and a great big applause to everyone who participated, I can't even begin to understand any of that coding stuff, and I'll certainly be using these plugins on my own tracks..

Cheers!

oops... I meant to say all the mac plugins may be universal plugins...

Big congrats and thanks again to everybody who developed. So many cool plugs... I hope we'll keep seeing updates for most of these. I'm super excited about the prospect of updated / expanded Lunchbox Battles and Grizzly. And I'm hoping that stefancrs is inspired by his big win here to tighten up the otherwise-fantastic Anna's CPU use a bit... :)

I'm so pleased that Fire got third too, it rocks and so does MDSP!

Damn. . .
I just feel bad for the makers of Cubix and Lunchbox. Those seemed like a lot of work not to mention the fantastic quality. Seems kinda weird to see some straight up synths steal the show. I think a lot of devs avoided the whole synth thing on purpose. Hopefully next year we don't see 31 VA Synths after these results.

Post

My votes were as follows...

1. Reson8 - just badass!! and it made me throw out all but 1 of the resonator plugins I had. I thought he mentioned something about LFO's :hyper: Anyone doing electronic, especially ambient stuff, or pads is going to love this one... AND I haven't come across such a big conigurable resonator before. Who says SE plugins are no good??

2. Triple Cheese - originally my first choice, and it was tough to bump it down. I think urs has some osc-voodoo going with his synths. The next (and only second VSTi) plugin I buy will be Zebra .

3. Anna - Huge synth... not really gigantic VS. Crystal and the modular like, but in it's size category I think it's definately noteworthy. It simply has great versatility. A CPU hog it may be, but then again these WERE free plugins, made in a small timeframe etc... and I think it was a very respectable work in that sense.

4. Pushtec - I actually had it higher initially. I don't know anything about what it was supposed to be emulating in sound or appearance, I still liked what I heard from it.

5. EQ22 - tried it on a loop and was hung. I had Fire in this spot, but decided that I liked the two plugins about the same. Fire was winning out of favour for MDSP, which I ruled unfair :D so I replaced it. So I'm really glad to see it still fared very well. :tu:

Remember, this was democratic, and sometimes you are forced to live with the rule of the majority you never favoured. I think everyone voted fairly so sour grapes to the whiners. :smack:
