ah now that's one thing i didn't know about edison (recording), i'll have to try it out
and thats gonna have me spending alot more time in fl, but just to be fair i think you missunderstood alot about what the mpc can do as well. and at anyrate it's still way faster in the mpc than in ableton Live which is what kritikon uses.

Okay, fair enough. Remember I'm not trying to say you shouldn't use an MPC; I should be using eXT for many things but I just don't find it comfortable. I just wouldn't believe that the MPC was factually faster.

yeah i'm used to all of that except step one, the only thing i wish edison could do is after slicing that those slices would be mapped to midinotes automaticly and that you could sequence them from a controller right from edison.
i'm sure gol would never go for it though

Actually, if you drag the entire sample (no selected regions) to a fruity slicer, it will automatically map the slices to individual notes... So that's the added step of adding a Fruity slicer, but w/e.

Very much so. Too much glorification of the MPC (they're sweet but not uber-magical or anything) and too much irrational insults of hip hop.

I think this is what youre really missing here. Different things are faster for different people. Live and FL are one of the most Instant tools out there for this type of stuff, and theyre not big expencive hardware boxes.

nah chase i'm not missing that point, Live is my main thing, I understand that there are differnt strokes for differnt folks, tox and I were merely talking number of steps to do something, shit some folks use commodore 64s for music, that's not the argument we were having.
call it the 'paper argument if you will, simply put on paper what process has the least amount of steps for a given process. It's a pretty simple topic on the surface but obviously some people don't like it when other people talk about said topic.

BTW, don't forget that number of steps doesn't necessarily constitute speed. What goes into each step/how it must be done is equally relevant.
