Can anyone recommend a basic filter effect I can use on drums? All I need is HP/LP, res and ideally midi learn. This is so I can do what I am currently unable to do with CamelPhat.

Cheers. :)

Well there is our *newly launched* GFlux plugin...

Might be a bit much for what you want tho. Alternatively we produce a freeware plugin called Delta Filter which is also available at the above link as part of the Delta Series. Mac and PC, VST format...

If you have a few bucks and want quality but simple I would suggest FabFilter Simplon!

What are you trying to do that you are unable to do with CamelPhat?

record automation.

I'm really sorry you're experiencing this problem. I've asked Tim to investigate further and see if he can recreate it. If we can recreate the problem we will fix it in an update.

Ah, wasn't aware there was a problem with that; looks like Ben's on the case already.

I'm really very happy with Ubergate

Very reasonably priced and I find Im going to this VST effect more than all my other effects combined and some of these others are quite a bit more expensive.

I don't know about the midi learn you ask for, but I can get any linked control or automation I need through my host (FL Studio). But I typically just use the presets and modify them as needed.

I like OhMyGod! from Ohm Force. It has a LP, BP, HP and comb filter, LFO, distortion and it comes free with every Computer Music magazine.

OHMYGOD! is a great freebie filter, sounds great, has some good functions and a nice distortion built into it as well. Very underrated as a freebie filter because people look at it as a comb filter only.

the comb part is awesome though too, you can hook it up with midi and play the frequency of the feedback. very cool.

heres my solution

Ok..Just tried this in Cubasis 4, and had no issues using MIDI Learn or recording
automation. Heres how I did it.

1.Imported an Audio track for mangling with CamelPhat.
2. Opened the VST send effects from the panels menu option, and selected CamelPhat.
3. Went to master mixer and activated the plug for use on the audio track.
3.Played the audio track..CamelPhat is crunching it.
4. Now to set up automation, I click on a MIDI track, and choose CamelPhat as its output.
5. Open the CamelPhat editor. Right click on a parameter I want to automate, and select
midi learn, and turn a knob on my knob box. The virtual knob turns as well.
6. Hit record on the transport, and record a MIDI track and tweak the knobs. Hit Stop on
the transport.
7. Play back track, the automation works fine.

Note: you can also edit the Midiconfig.txt in the CamelPhatData folder and simply put in what CCs you want.Make sure you have closed your host when you do this.

Hope this helps

Hi,

Thanks for looking into it, and as per your list, I'm doing everything correctly, but it still doesn't work - not if I use it as a send or insert, midi learn doesn't link to any controller and even if I move the filter sliders with my mouse, Cubasis doesn't create a midi part after recording.

I assure you that it does work with any other plug I choose to use...

Did you try just typing the no into the txt file? :? Maybe you are both using different versions of cubasis from each other? An old version may not support something more recent or sumamt...
