Sure enough, AT2 and SVX do sound good ...
But, even with the "eco settings" in both plugins, I get frequent dropouts and performance meter red clipping.
Those dropouts occur only when I have 1 or 2 of these newest IK's plugs in my SX3 mixer's slots ....
I previously used them on a PIV 3 Ghz, and of course I had the problem, then recently I switched to a dualcore...
And the problem remains.
---
It's some kind of spike : when all goes fine, the meter is maybe just at 25 or 30%.
Then suddenly, dropout and red light, 100% CPU, then the dropout ceases, the meter goes back down to the average consumption, untill next time.
It's especially disturbing when recording !
---
If I use SX3 intensively, with a lot of other plugs, vstis, etc. (but not AT2 or SVX), it goes just fine.
As soon as I put AT2 and/or SVX on board, I'm assured to get those dreaded dropouts, at least one per minute, at best.
So I don't know if it's the plugs, or the combinations of the plugs with SX. I frequenly watch for updates, and see none, and there seems to be not so many (satisfied or unsatisified) users.... where are they ?
So I'm puzzled... am I alone ?
Some feedback from users should be welcome !
Am I alone ? AT2 & SVX in SX3 = CPU spikes & dropouts

I can't speak for the SVX, but I can tell you that AT2 works just fine with my SX3 as host. From your description, I would say that the problem is not specific to the IK plugs. Because of what they do, FX plugs in general will take a lot of processing power. Remember that each effect process in the chain will require a different math calculation for as long as the signal plays. Some of the presets in AT2 involve a dozen or more different effects. That's a lot of math.
If you are also using AT2 or SVX in multiple instances, then, of course, your strain will multiply.
I would suggest looking at the patches that you are using, and then shut down different effects in the chain to see if that lightens your overall load. If this is not desirable, then I would suggest freezing or printing your tracks where possible.
Hope that helps.

Does the CPU go to 100% when the audio going to the plugins stops? Then that would the dreaded Pentium 4 Denormal problem. The best you can do is to tell the plugin manufacturers about it.
