Gvst Glfo has some interesting panning features among others.
... and i don't know if Betabugs Spinbug has been mentionned, but it is very good !

BTW, i am also looking for 2 special panners :
1- a convincing 3D autopanner (not only left:right, but spinning around your head) ; mda panner does this, i guess, but id' like more parameters (and maybe tempo sync)...
2- a "triggered" panner : each time a sound above a certain level come into the plugin, the panner changes the pan (for example : first hit = full left, second hit = full right, etc)..

No, i thought it was only for surround and/or quadriphonie, not "basic" stereo processing... I will put an eye on it.
