A little off-topic but I guess they employ soft waveshaping (typical curve used for magnetic saturation emulation) without performing upsampling beforehand and downsampling afterwards. Thus the only remaining way to avoid aliasing is to limit the amount of high frequency content feeding the waveshaper.Extreme Punch was designed to be used on bass, guitars and low frequency drums such as kick drum and toms. It was not designed to be used on vocals.

Well Voxengo TaPe BUss and PSP VIntage Warmer will easily supply your needs,, As well as Magneto in cubase is very good..
And TO EVerybody who hates Antares TUBE,, I just want to say , that none of you really know what a tube sounds like then.. The fact i think lies in that maybe you dont like the sound of tubes.. BEcasue that is as close an emulation of a real tube than anything out there. BAR NONE!! BUt its nota taPE saturator, so im not sure why it was mentioned,, but for a tube emulation, its as good as it gets..
And Im not saying this as a person who has never used tube devices such as amps, mics, or dynamic processors. I use and have all of these and whenever I need some tube saturation on a track I didnt use one of the above, IT sounds very very close to the real deal...

I own real Class-A Triode Valve stuff, I LOVE the sound of valves (when they're well designed with a high quality signal path, not that cheapo 'with a tube added' crap thats getting sold out there) , and I'm telling you, the Antares Tube plugin is utterly aweful. Hmm... I have not argued on that matter (both available RSO plug-ins are out of my needs and I have not even tried any of those) but, I just wanted to see if BFunKu is 'better' than a "drunken No-handed Man". This he can prove now only by preparing better plug-ins (type of "Extreme Punch" and "Vocal Magic") than RSO does. Switched back to some decent hardware now to get my colour and distortion..only way to do it!.
But as for plugs;
Christortion is great for harmonic distortions..huge number of choices...used sparingly.
PSP Mixsaturator is good...again used lightly.
Antares tube was way to harsh and mushy.
Didn't get on with RetroBand although it's ok for the tiny'ist amounts..to mushy for my tastes.
Voxengo stuff is great as already mentioned, Tapebus, Warmifier, Laptruster etc.
And yes Magneto is a very good plugin to smooth things out if your on Cubase that is, I'll miss it though as I've just switched from Cubase/PC to a Mac Pro with Logic and some outboard gear again..although I have a PC set up for all the great VST/PC plugs out there just incase
