I don't have kontakt yet, but do think this is a great idea. (I've never liked midi modulation as vibrato).

Anyone willing to give their opinion about this - the sound quality I mean?

Thankyou - is this for free as well? Fantastic idea.

When it comes to scripting and sound manipulation Kontakt is much better than every other sampler! There are so many great scripters writing a lot of REALLY amazing stuff for Kontakt!

Take a look here (it's the Kontakt Scripting Forum):

Wow, this looks really interesting! What a great idea; I hate messing around for a long time with LFO settings to get good vibratos.

So I'm relatively new to Kontakt 2. I've been using K1 since it came out, but I have no idea how to get this KSP module into Kontakt. How do I apply this vibrato to an instrument?

Post

Hi bduffy!

It's very easy: copy the nkp file from my zip to the ...\Native Instruments\Kontakt 2\presets\scripts directory (depends on where you have installed it). After that restart kontakt. Now go to "Script Editor" click on "Script >" and select "dynamitec ultravib".

Updated the to Version 1.10.00:

Removed:
* quality and smooth settings since they are not needed anymore
(CPU is now 1-2% normally, really fast vibratos need 2-4% CPU)

Changed:
* better vibrato calculation alogrithm
* improved quality of vibrato tone. It sounds much better now!

Updated to Version 2.00.5

Added:

* presetsystem. You have up to 10 presets you can use to save vibratos. Every preset slot is filled with a quick demo.

Changed:

* bugfix: vibrato wasn't correct if you did some changes in edit mode while playing some notes on keyboard.

Thanks a lot for this very particular fix!
Though I found that your script gives pretty nice results I almost gave up because nothing really happened trying to change the values.
I thought I was too dumb and was hesitating to ask :)

Now that I "more or less" understand how the curves are working I must confess I dont really understand the new preset/slot concept.
Is a slot what former a preset was?
and a particular slot combination saved in a preset?
And why are they four slots?
A last question that irritates me: is this version a demo version with restrictions? (for example saving presets)

Best regards

Post

Hi teacue! The new preset / slot concept is easy: There are four slot which are saved with all paramter to one preset. So any slot/parameter combination is saved to one preset.

At moment this is a demo version, but i'll do individual licences. For example for personal use only and so on. Send me a email to: BenjaminStelzer@gmx.de if you want more information.

Thanks for your answer.
I have send you an email.

I have read on another Forum that the Demo limitation is that "it's limited to 250 notes"
I add this because after reading this thread it was not really clear to me what the limation is.

Post

It's 500 Notes with 2.0 :)
