Is there a midi plugin that has like an LFO which can trigger i.e. a Midi note on?
Suppose i insert that midi plugin and have it trigger a kickdrum, i'd like to have it play like this: (o=kick -=silence)
O-------O------O---O--O-OOOOO-O--O---O----O------O--------O
Is there a plugin for this?
I asked around in Production Technique before for info, but since it's really an effect i'm after this post is better at place here.
Any info very welcome. I use Cubase btw. Cheers.

I appreciate the answer -again- haydxn. The thing is, i need this effect for a project i'm currently working on and i have a schedule to keep to. I can't ask you to hurry things up for me now can i? 
I'm sure an effect like this exists because i've either heard of it or read about it before but i can't recall where. :/

that's probably your best bet for now. i just did an experiment with a combination of MIDI LFO and a midi translator, and the results weren't perfect.
to illustrate:
[MIDI LFO] -> [TRANSLATOR] -> synth
if the translator is set to convert e.g. cc value of 63 (crossing 'zero') to a note on, there is a chance that the note wouldn't ever get generated, depending on the data the LFO outputs. for example, if the LFO is oscillating quickly, the actual value of 63 may get skipped to ensure the MIDI queue doesn't fill up with a LOT of midi messages. i have it running in the background now, and it skips beats occasionally which is not what you'd want.
the plug i'm developing now will not have that kind of problem, and sadly it will be a few weeks til it is ready for release so indeed it is of no use to you now. hopefully when it does become available you will find a use for it.
Til then, you need to either
(a) find a MIDI LFO plugin that is guaranteed to output every step of the CC range for its output (unlikely) and couple that with a MIDI converter plugin (to translate a CC to a note on - i've already made one of these)
or (b) find a dedicated plugin like you're looking for!
if i weren't so busy with my current project, i'd knock one up for you in a flash. sadly i cannot at present.
i think your best bet is to find some way of playing back a sequence (of one note + space) with variable speed, e.g. in an arp. i'm not sure which arps have flexible speed modulation options though. whatever you find, it will have the same effect. therefore, follow mooseman's advice!

MCC from Tobybear has three independent LFO's with Note on/off capability.

Well, if it's not a very long section, why don't you just automate the tempo of your host, and then render it out as a loop. Then you can import the loop back into your composition. It might take a bit of futzing around with some math though, to get it to fit right.

John, yes that crossed my mind. The thing is, the 'bouncing' LFO effect has to fit in the beat. When i automate the tempo i lose grasp of the rhythm.
(If anyone is interested i'll post a part of a track where i attempted this effect before, but it'll take a while since it's on vinyll and my old gear isn't connected atm.)

Hmmm... I wonder if alternately, there are any drum VSTis with built-in sequencers that can have their tempo automated.
