It's a lot like an advanced version of Supatrigga's repeat function. Or more closely, 13th floor's old Babysplice (if you ever had a chance to try that before it went the way of the dodo).

Beat repeat buffers some audio (adjustable to beat lengths), plays it back a specified amount of times, and lets you do things like offset the buffer from the beat, change the pitch of the buffer, slide the pitch down, have the repeats fade out, etc.
