I have submitted a news item, but I have no idea when/if it will be published. So, I wanted to let you guys know there's a new Sample Squad pack available. It's an inexpensive Bodhran. Click my sig to hear demos and to find out more about it. There will be expansion packs for it, too.

I checked out the demo and really liked it and plan on getting it tonight once I am at home. I think its going to work great in my current song.

Thank you! Feels good to get something useful and not have too bleed to much green for it, eh? I'll be doing some more hand scrapes and alternate strikes as soon as I can as a free expansion pack. I'll post a notice in the Sample Squad forum here on KVR and send an email as well.

A buddy of mine who is a Berklee grad in percussion is loaning me a very nice Tar for the weekend. I'll be capturing as much of it as I can for another inexpensive expansion pack, so keep an eye peeled for that one, too.

Yeah I got it this morning so have not had a chance to play with the samples but I cant wait!

Also looking forward to hearing what you do with the Tar.

He remembered to bring it this morning. It's a very nice drum, imported from Pakistan. The cross-beams are bigger and sturdier on this one than I have ever seen on a Tar or Bodhran before. When you strike it in the center of the beams, there's an incredibly warm low note. It's gonna be a beauty to record.
