Hey all,
Any vst fx that'll do the univibe? iirc the univibe was trying to
imitate a leslie rotating speaker. I've tried various chorus fx but
they just don't have that same sound. I found one plugin (a betabug)
that supposed to simulate a rotating speaker, I haven't tried it yet,
I plan to later on tomorrow.

great place this here kvr :)

Simulanalog has one:

I don't know how their univibe compares to the real thing, but their jcm900 sim is fantastic!

Yeah, that's nice. I also don't know how it compares to the real thing cos I never owned one, but it is a very nice effect.

The univibe was an attempt to sound like leslie, but a miserable failure. It is a really great effect all on its own. A univibe is really more of a phaser than a chorus.

For actual rotating speaker sounds, well, I have a leslie, and I find the leslie sim in B4 to be pretty darn good.

There's lots of univibe vst's too. I don't think I own one that's called 'univibe,' but the GMO-1 will definitely get you in the ballpark.
Grist for the glamour mill.

+1. Put on pads all the time.

The one that came with Nubi was pretty good, it's still here http://www.kvraudio.com/get/2247.html There's a lot more (including one for 4 speakers somewhere :) but that one was good.

It's the closest anyone ever got as a plugin.

It sounds very much like the real thing, just with less accuracy resulting in a bit muffled and transient-killed sound.

Sounds great nevertheless, and so does the PS-1 phaser in the pack.

How about Audio Damage's Phase Two? I know it's modelled after a different phaser, but it might be a reasonable suggestion for someone after a high-quality vintage phaser effect?

Thank you all for the replies, I've downloaded the simulanalog suite, and
the nubile Spinner (looks good).
Come to think of it, I believe Mr Yarrow hit the nail on the head, heh
the univibe doesn't really sound like a leslie. It (the univibe)
does seem to have some kinda warbling throughout the effect though, makes
me think of a big log chain being picked up by one end off of a concrete
floor, and set back down again, or maybe water bubbling in a creek.
Not putting down the leslie either, the first time I ever heard one
of those it seemed to make the Organ (GFR Shinin' On tour) come alive.
