i'm focusing on mastering my tracks right now....
i have cubase4, psp vintage warmer, and komplete4 as my main fx sources
i saw that killer deal on the izotope bundle in the deals section
i'm wondering if its worth it
as far as mastering my tracks
is it worth it?
what are the pros and cons?
i dont have the loot for waves right now.......
but i just wanna poll the audience
thx

I don't know which plugins are in that bundle, but I love Izotope plugins. I use Trash and Ozone a lot. For mastering your tracks, Ozone has all the tools you need.
Lots of people use only its presets and so they see it as a toy, but if you learn how to tweak it and discover all its power, it's really worth it

Why are your only choices those 3?

Izotopes products are very good, you just have to know how to use them correctly and sparingly (usually for me). My favorites are Voxengo's tho, I own both and feel they are great complimentaries, both truly strenghthen an arsenal. In the end just go after what your ears like not what everyone says is right. Advice is good but demoing and listening to your ears is better. Don't limit your demoing to certain brands either, be open minded!

think about cpu usage with izotope. not fun. :D

but i own trash and ozoen

In comparison to T-racks i like Izotope better and Ozone also offers more features and sounds cleaner plus is more affordable. But again demo and see what your own ears have to say.

the bundle is ozone trash and spectron....
i am totally openminded
i only mentioned the products that i am aware of....
usually i am very instrument focused....
so anything you like please suggest....
and i am happy to try out a lot of demos...
but getting other peoples opinions gives me new ideas etc....
thanks for the advice so far
i will continue my quest!

www.voxengo.com www.tritonedigital.com www.db-audioware.com (quantum fx), www.wavearts.com www.uaudio.com (uad's you can't demo only listen to clips). those are a few names that can keep you bussy for awhile, hope this helps.

p.s. most have downloadable demo's.

I think for mastering Ozone is great - if you do want to push the maximizer too hard. The limiter prevents inter-sample peaks, does DC removal and has a very good dithering section. Metering is quite great in Ozone. I mainly use those features. The eq, if used write is also pretty good, but it is also very CPU intensive, as the whole plugin.

I also use Ozone and Trash and like them very much.

And I also found the dithering options in Ozone to be really good. I was thinking of getting Sonar producer version to get bether dithering options, but it's all there and more in Ozone.

So I can stay in Sonar Studio. And that alone saved me half the cost of Ozone.

And Trash is my main plug for guitar and bass amp modeling.

I have Trash and Spectron. Both brilliant programs!

I use ozone constantly, it's the only plugin in my template, run via FXTeleport to a second machine. Even with nothing on, having a second computer just showing meters or eq is very nice. And I use the loudness maximizer for 'rough masters' for clients, who never want to hear anything at less than full throttle.

I don't do actual mastering, so I have no opinion about that.

I have spectron as well. It's a beautiful program, tho not something I use on every record.

I'd love to have trash, but somehow haven't gotten the urge and the cash at the same time.
Grist for the glamour mill.
