Hi all, this is my first post here, but I have been reading the thread - lots of good info here.
I just wanted to let you all know that I found the EZ-EG online at 2 sites for less than $150.
They are both Factory Refurb units, but at that price for occasional use in my home studio, I figured what the heck.
Computer Geeks ($139US): (where I bought mine)
http://www.geeks.com/details.asp?invtid=EZ-EG-R&cpc=SCH (http://www.geeks.com/details.asp?invtid=EZ-EG-R&cpc=SCH)
Computer Geeks currently has a promotion for $1.99 FedEx Ground shipping if you use promo code SHIP4LESS.
Another site that has it is Heartland America ($149US):
http://heartlandamerica.com/browse/item ... =S&DL=SEH1 (http://heartlandamerica.com/browse/item.asp?product=yamaha-ez-eg-teaching-guitar&PIN=45740&GUID=70F9E346-7CAA-4EF4-AE06-1BBD968C1B3C&BC=S&DL=SEH1)
if those links get wrapped you can try these instead:
http://tinyurl.com/yhrzzv (http://tinyurl.com/yhrzzv)
http://tinyurl.com/ykg37y (http://tinyurl.com/ykg37y)
According to the FedEx tracking page, it is on the truck for delivery, so I am expecting to receive it today.
I am on a mac so the cool software you guys have written will probably not work for me, even though there is a java component.
My primary use for the EZ-EG guitar is to capture my guitar compositions via midi into Garageband and/or Logic Express. yea, I can transcribe it to tab or standard notation, but why not take advantage of the modern technology available to us?
I have been tracking the Roland MIDI guitar pickups (GK-2a & GK-3) and the converter boxes (GI-10 & GI-20) for a few months and the price of entry into that realm is about $500 as you may already know. From what I have been reading, the Brian Moore iGuitar, the Axon Guitar MIDI all have _some_ latency, so being that I am more concerned with a) cost, and b) guitar pitch-to-MIDI capture in the studio than roadworthiness and a 'pro' setup I figured that the cost of the EZ-EG at this refurb price was a small risk.
I hope this info helps others who may be shopping for one now.
Take Care,
Adam

Brian moore guitars dont have latency, no gk pickups do. It's all in the convertor.
I have a gr20 synth, no latency, they worked on upgrades, the synth before that, gr33 had low string latency, so I sold that.
I have the ez suite, pm whoever made it and ask if we can pass it on.

So you like the GR-20 better than the GR-33?RunBeerRun wrote:Brian moore guitars dont have latency, no gk pickups do. It's all in the convertor.

I've heard some guys say the opposite. I've
got a GR-50. I think it tracks pretty well
and the ability to import patches from
other Roland LA synths is pretty cool.

Hi,
I tested the suite demo and was offline for a while.
Actually I wanted to buy the official version, but now there is no response. ..
Oh - I see Marc is here again....
What do you suggest ?

Well, I'll believe that one, but it's the last one.birgerg wrote:Actually I wanted to buy the official version
I delayed my short and therefore cold vacations so everybody would have the time to try the demo.
Anyway, those who are still interested to get the Suite for 30 € (I know...), can send me a mail or pm me to get a temporary link to order it until the 20th November 2006. Then the suite won't be available anymore ... life goes on.

The gr20 actually has updated tracking system than the gr33, it's not just my preference.
Too bad the ez suite isn't going to be around long! People will be picking these up years from now and'll be turned off by the limitations.

Well there are still the old script-based solutions that work fine. I think Marc is just getting away from the idea of developing his stuff any further and quitting the idea of a commercial VST version.RunBeerRun wrote:Too bad the ez suite isn't going to be around long! As for my own, I haven't pulled my EZ-EG out of the box since I moved back in January, but once I get back to it I'll update my script suite.

Hi Marc,
yes - I would like to have the "last"-official version ... But this is very bad to have no further support on that. I sent you a pm and a message in the yahoo group because of an issue with the demo suite.
The note off commands seemed to be blocked..
Ok - I hope the commercial version works. So I want to order and I'll send you a pm.

Hi Birger, the demo has a timeout that should indeed be reached by now, at least the oldest.birgerg wrote:Hi Marc,

Now, I never said that I'll discontinue support or further development of the suite, the 10 people or so who bought the suite can still propose feature requests or submit bugs (though I have already plenty of the former and none of the later).
