After a bit of a gap, I am having another look at Sonik Synth 2.

I downloaded the SS2 Free and the free instruments from the IK site and am exploring those. There seems to be a few part presets (.stip files) that do not show up in the SS2 browser. I can see them in Explorer though.

I could not get the IK Sounds database to return any useful results. :(

Can anyone tell me what instrument(s) they belong to? The 5 preset files are:
Analog Bursty Bass.stip
Hard Nox Bass.stip
MC2 DelBass.stip
MW BadBass.stip
Plung Bass.stip

[There seems to be a bit of a theme there]

TIA

Hmm. They might be child presets that had their parents removed (orphans?). The files are harmless on their own - I wouldn't worry about it.

Those patches were specially made just for Sonik Synth 2 Free. But, the parent sounds they would work with ARE in SS2, just have different internal ID's and possibly different names. The patches of SS2 Free weren't designed to work with SS2. I realize they probably should have been though. But, they're not. Still... those patches ARE possible to create with SS2 as well because they use the same samples.

One of the next major updates though I am going to incorporate patches like those that were made for the SS2 FREE and Keyboard magazine article... since a fair amount of people have asked for this.

Thanks guys.

Oops, I wasn't too clear.

I don't have SS2 (yet), only SS2 Free. So those 5 part presets do look like orphans to me.

Until then, I guess we'll just have to make do with the 5,000 patches that come with SS2.
