I use TapeIt a lot, but I always have to manually align the resulting audio track if I want it sample-perfect. Can't figure out why exactly -- the track's always a bit early, but not in a predictable amount (such as the amount of my buffer).
I'm using TapeIt primarily in SX3 (and now C4), in record-on-playback mode. I import the audio back into cubase at the cursor position where I started playback.
I had some very nice emails with silverspike, but never got to the root of the problem. Anybody else having similar experiences? Thanks.
Timing issues with TapeIt

i had something similar with LiveSlice and recording audio into it in my host, ableton live.
i found that it works perfect when i deactivate the plugin delay compensation, might be worth a try for you, too.

Thanks. This is something I've always wondered about. I turn off PDC when tracking midi or whatever, but I'm not clear on how it would affect a track bounce. In other words, if my tracks have plugins on them that need PDC, don't I need PDC on when rendering with TapeIt?

afaik PDC just deals with the different latencies the plugins have for calculating their sounds, the host takes the plug with the highest latency and sets all other plugs to be calculated after a delay (we're talking about some samples here) so in the end every plug in your project calculates in sync.
this is not a problem when freezing or rendering tracks inside the host, but when sampling a sound with another plug it sometimes seems to have that effect, everything is recorded with a little delay (in LS or TapeIt), so it sometimes helps to turn off pdc. just switch it on again after bouncing.

You know, I bet that's it, as I think about it. Would account for the fact that my audio always end up early, but the number of samples varies. I think I'm getting double compensation. Will be interested to test this out.
