hallo,

i use jeskola buzz which has a couple of wave-input-plugins (in buzz-format). if i set asio4all as audiodriver, there is a large latency. if i use directsound or wave (which have less latency in buzz) these plugins don't work.
my question: is there any vsti with an input for microphone?

This is a limitation of your "soundcard". Presumably you're using the onboard soundcard of your motherboard. Latency issues can only be cured by investing in a better soundcard with low latency and native Asio drivers.

VST's only deal with the host (in this case Buzz) and the host communicates with the soundcard through drivers: either Asio (preferred) or other Windows drivers (WMA, MME, DirX) which in turn accesses the hardware.

So you're asking for a plugin that compromises the "plugin - host - driver - hardware" architecture, which is a rather tough call.

Again, if you get another soundcard then the issues will vanish. Make sure you pick one with a microphone preamp, or you'll need a seperate mic preamp to amplify the mic signal to line level.

I've heard good things about the Audiophile. But: you cannot plug in a microphone in it directly. You'll need an extra preamp for that, e.g. the M-Audio AudioBuddy.

Yes that's a common and good one. I think I have it too...

Beware though: If you plan to buy a pre-amp as well, and maybe you'll play guitar too, look at the Line6 Toneport UX / UX2 as well. These are external soundcards, include mic preamps, AND include a whole bunch of mic and guitar preamps and FX.

Yes, you can!
