Anyone know of some good "Nintendo Soundfonts/Samples"? and can you legaly use them in your music?

Post

theres programs that emulate video game systems, and are downloadable, and the actual games are encoded to work with the emulators, and theyre called .ROM's....
its illegal to have them on your computer for more than 24 hours, because theyre intended for demonstrational purposes....but, most of them have a wav export feature....so u could download it, download some games, export the sounds u want, then get rid of the stuff....

and no, it isnt legal to use, unless u have permission from the company who makes whichever game your sampling...

tweakbench has a few synths that emulate nintendo sounds, they are free and legal.

I've managed to get some quite good game over/power up music snippets out of NanoX2, http://www.kvraudio.com/get/2455.html

(Tip: Try using it with energyXT's preset generator)

There're several NES SF2s available on the net, you can mostly find them on emulation pages as "bonus". Also there's the "Magical 8bit Plugin" (look in the Instrument Section).

Or if you still have an old NES (US) and you use hardware, you can get the NES as "hardware synth", called "Wayfar MIDINES"
