Blue Cat's Dynamics is an all-in-one dynamics processor acting as a compressor, limiter, expander, gate or distortion unit, making it one of the most complete dynamics processor of the market. Its original controls and unique monitoring features will suit both the advanced users' and beginners' needs. It can be used together with the freeware Gain Suite plug-ins for easy side chaining, as shown in the tutorials available on our website (see below).

Features:
- Full featured dynamics processor: compressor, gate, limiter, expander, distortion.
- Available in mono and stereo versions.
- Total control over the processor: continuous peak/RMS and Opto/VCA modes selection.
- Total control over the signal: dry/wet control, input fiter, side chain filter.
- Post brickwall limiter or waveshaper.
- Optimal monitoring: dynamics response and input/output envelopes real time display, main compression information - can be recorded as automation curves.
- Best quality: up to 4x oversampling for the best sounding quality
- Side chaining made easy: a unique way to perform side chain compression and much more.
- Real time MIDI control with advanced settings (MIDI channel and CC numbers, with complete response curve control) and MIDI learn.
- Multiple skins included for optimal user experience.
- No latency.
- Native DSP code for optimal performance.
- Skinnable user interface.
- DirectX and VST plug-in formats support.
- Smooth Update: silent (zipper-free) parameters update.
- Full automation support (all parameters can be automated, with smooth and continuous update)

Step by step tutorials are available to learn how to use the advanced features of these plug-ins:

:hihi:

I'm pretty sure I owe you a license purchase, matter of fact..

looks very good - hold for the envelope - never seen that one before in any compressor even though it strikes me as being a very good idea :? :-D

This is cool and I will definetely consider a buy.

BUT ...
switching off and on the Auto-Gain of the stereo demo in energyXT froze my whole screen, and the only way to get out of it was to restart windows.

I am writing this now and will retry then.

So, I could not reproduce the problem. It is working now.

Thanks. I know it could be much better, but our investments are mostly made on the sound rather than on a fancy 3D UI. Custom skinnig is possible though, so we are open to any third party skin maker :).
old for the envelope - never seen that one before in any compressor even though it strikes me as being a very good idea
It's something which was seen on an old hardware compressor (I can't even remember the name...). It allows you to have a very steep release curve without too much distortion.
o, I could not reproduce the problem. It is working now.
Strange issue indeed. It's either coming from something else or maybe an overflow issue (signal growing too fast), which in worst case could only cause dropouts...
If you can reproduce it with a simple scenario, please keep us informed.

you need to work a bit on your quoting-skills, Theo my friend... ;-)

and on your actual question: I have no idea who said that showing the envelope was never seen before - at least it was no-one in this thread here..

Post

ah, I see you edited your post now - very good - you see, with a bit of effort it ain't so hard after all to make a proper quote, even for you. :-D

Very good dynamic processor, well done Blue Cat Audio!

There are 3 things i'd like to mention:
1) CPU - it's not a use-on-every-track-compressor, it can be quite CPU hungry (up to 20% on a 2.6Ghz). :(
2) Presets: Great preset selection, from soft to extreme to experimental, showing off all its features. Cool stuff!
3) The Dry/Mix knob does really some magic - I wish other companies dynamic processors like Kj*coff*coff* would have this option!

Blue Cat, how long does the special last with 25% off? Have mercy and leave it for 4 weeks please ;)

Yes, this option was actually added after some user comments on KVR, and I cannot do without it anymore. Especially combined with the input filter (like in the "bass boost" preset).

This is only if you use 4x oversampling. With no oversampling ("0 stages") the stereo version uses between 4 to 7% depending on what you activate (filters, post limiter). (I am talking here about a one year old AMD Turion 64 processor, 1.8 GHz, and it seems from beta testing that it's almost the same on most CPUs). You will of course never use a 4x oversampled processor on every track :). And with minimum options the mono versions only uses 2%, which is not much.

I would say between 3 and 4 weeks. But you'll be in anyway, I consider your private message as a pre-order ;)

Cool! I'm going to dl the demo tonight or tomorrow and if it works in Tracktion2 I'm in - I guess you'd fix it (if it's your problem) even if it didn't work so I'm probably in anyway! Nice features Blue Cat :tu:

I've tested the demo and in my opinion:
On elctronic drums with fast settings i miss some "punch" that other Softcomp like K***censored*** does...
GUI is ok. Ratio values are strange. Seems like changed. If dividing shown Ratio Setting through 1 it results in standard xx:1 values

Would it be difficult to implement internal routing for the sidechaining function?
This way it'd be much more straight forward, more efficient and it would allow to overcome certain limitations in some DAWs (Samplitude :D ). Ideally, one instance of plug-in should be in "send" mode and the other one in "receive" mode. This way you can also
make the DPMP compatible with Samplitude.

Great work!

Thanks
