inserts can be dragged and copied (press ctrl) around in the mixer inside the same channel (up/down) or between channels. And you can drop vst effects from the browser into mixer channels.

From the "ladspa replacement" thread:
at the beginning their will be only a very small number of native linux VSTs
jorgen wrote:There are already 4 synth and 30+ native VST effects ported to linux, they are all free and will ship with the first pre-release beta.

pre1 - "Core" : midi/audio tracks, automation, mixer and browser
pre2 - "Workstation" : drum-track, sampler, clip fx and multi-effect
pre3 - "Control" : midi mapping, triggering, groove and midi effects

pre2 will not be uploaded before pre1 is bug-free etc...and as soon as pre3 is bug-free, it is XT2.

oh, and it will be both windows and linux. The mda plugins are avilable as native linux VSTs.

News from Jorgen (09 November):
like whats to be expected, do you have to sign up for beta testing etc...i have a couple of audio guys interested in XT2 so i would like to stay in the know so i can let them know whats going on...
As KvR is the official energyXT support forum, I will setup a new dedicated XT2 "pre-release beta testing" forum on energy-xt.com. The forum is only for testing/reporting the pre-releases.

There will also be a "release plan" page at energy-xt.com showing details about features in each pre-release, and what they contain. Pre1 is stripped/basic, pre2 adds more features and pre3 is the same as XT2 but in beta stage.
yea i was also wondering about that. i'd love to help test but i don't even own a licence.
you can test, but you cant save projects.
I would guess that it will be available to all XT1 owners
yes, you can unlock XT2 pre-release with your current XT license.
One question: Will the saves made with the first pre beta be compatible with the latter versions?
yes

yep, the "composer" (need another name though) will be a new panel for all sorts of editing, both midi AND d audio. It will have setting for quantize, compose, slice, destructive process sample with VST effect. So what I will do is group about all editing operations into a nice vertical toolbar. Starting in pre-1, and will develope it thu out the 3 pre stages...

its very nice when it comes to adding effects, just ctr+f enter "fla" + return, it will then show your flanger effecs, then just drag&drop it in the inserts slot of the instrument or hannel
