Hi Bassballjg!

Thank you for the freebie! Nice sounds in there. But would it be possible to know a little bit more about the sounds themself, from which library they come from? the sound sources? does the kits are sliced from live played drums & if so who's the drummer(s)?

This is looking very good, more infos please!

Not to be coy, but many of the samples will be in several libraries. The way we do things at dBu is create a bunch of samples and see what happens when you run them through different synth engines. So we basically have a pool of sounds that get released in different formats in different combinations at different times. The samples themselves are really just a starting point for the creative presets in instruments like Wusikstation and EVE 2. This is a taste of the newest generation of that process, in sf2 and now sfz so you get to hear the raw material that will show up in libraries for different proprietary formats with presets exploiting that engine's sound shaping parameters. Using these "neutral" formats for the promo freebie displays the sound design at the sample level, but when you get a formatted library, like the SonicScapes 2.0 update for WusikEngine synths coming out in December, there's an extra layer of sound design at the preset level.

The drum kits are slices from Johan Rucker's Dangerous Grooves. Johan and I will be back in the studio with new kits to sample and beats to record, so there will be new drum material soon, especially for the new dangerous Drums series for DK+.

I don't like to talk much about sources, because I'm not in the business of sellling you a replica of that instrument, and the expectations that go with it. We do source material for creative synthesis with your sampler/synth as the instrument being used for your music. Some people do the "replica" thing very well, but that's not what dBu does. Our libraries are presented on a what-you-hear-is-what-you-get basis. You can use the presets beause you like the sound of them or you can take it from the soundset level and DIY, but it's up to you and your imagination, what you can do with Wusik or Sampletank, not the idea that this is a replica of instrument "x". The replica thing is very important from a practical point of view for pianos, or orchestral and ethnic instruments that are expensive or hard to find or learn to play. But with us, the samples are there to be run through the processors and modulators of your sample-playing synth. That's the instrument you're actually playing.

End rant. Thanks for your interest and I hope you get some good music out of the sounds.

Ok I see, that WusikEngine thing seems more & more interesting! Might try the demo (if there is one). Thanks for the free original sounds!

The Wusuikstation demo package has just been updated:

It really is one of the better sample-playback synths available.
