cool patches sink.

@brok; there is nothing i can do about the code and underlying stuff of oatmeal. the only thing i can do is change the graphics, and the way it looks, not so much the way it acts. depending on how many frames i use for controls animations, that will determine how far you have to drag to adjust and how finely it adjusts. i'm not sure how oatmeal skin engine does that yet as this is my first time skinning it but it would make sense to follow the normal way of doing it -- interpolation of possible values / number of frames = total positions available. so if the pots are 63 frames, and the values go from 0-127 that means that in my rotation animation (i typically use 91 frames though) the engine will compensate and use one image frame for every 2 positions available. i think that if you hold shift or something it will move in finer increments (that's the standard implementation dunno how fuzpils did his engine).

make sense?

i'm working now on dinner :)

then it's lfo 1 and 2 and then effects and master. it's getting there. slowly but surely.

thanks all for support/comments.

Incredible work grymmjack.. thx for the contribution sinkmusic..

Exactly. The same reason I like rich digital edgey synths like Komplexer, Firebird, Tera, Waldorf, MicrowaveXT .. now CFX Rock is an excellent freebie synth.. really nasty..

version F is nice.
The colors are a little bit harder (more contrast and darkness than on version E, but that is fine too).

sink; yea i forgot and turned on the 'pixel.exciter' layer ;) (levels, hsb). fixed now. going to stop for the night and continue tommorow.

This looks great! I look forward to it being finished!

Seeing how it's turning out to be,

man that synth's a mess! :o

It's in no way grymmjacks fault, but more the fact the thing has a very convoluted set of features.

Although the very small font and GUI size, and low contrast colors aren't helping much.

This skin is turning out lovely. But I hope you'll leave the faders plain or at least make two versions, one plain and one "fire" (didn't know how to describe the fader glow) if you decide to go with the latter.

But it does look sweet.

Post

yeah I prefer the plain faders for what it's worth. Can't wait to use that skin!

Version "F" has the best looking contrast balance to me. Version "G" still looks good though. Either way, I think this is one of the nicest skins I've seen on a vst synth plugin.

I think only Zebra2 has more features :hihi: I kept Oatmeal long "in the closet" since it's appearance here, and only recently realised it's potential - it does seem to be very complex, but after making just a couple of patches I realised that it's just as simple as any 2-osc V/A, but expands that concept with comprehensive configuration options, fantastic effects, eq, modulation and arp. I use the large default skin now until grymmjacks's finished ;-)

Have you checked out the waveform drawing functionality?
