I've been hard pressed to find a decent shaker instrument. I'd like one to compliment the awesomeness of nskit7. Free or not free. Are there any out there? Thanks!

In my NS Kit Free folder, there's a subfolder with shakers in it. I also own the commercial NS Kit 7, so maybe I've mixed up the samples at this point, but I think the shakers came when NS Kit Free was distributed with a magazine.
The file name for one of the nine samples is "gmshkr_c_dwn10.wav", so maybe someone will chime in and let us know which distribution this came with.

I have both the retail and free versions, and unfortunately I could find neither. I didn't get the free version that came with a magazine though. So perhaps I missed out.

I've released a whole bunch of latin shakers soundfonts in the past, stuff like maracas, cabasas, and various egg shakers. I wonder where they are, if Audioshots still has them...

The G-town samples used to have a great egg shaker. I think they're only available over bit-torrent now... http://www.northernsounds.com/forum/sho ... hp?t=34388 . Obviously it's full of reverb but still sounds nice
Still Loving Stylus RMX though for it's drums and percussion loops.. loads of shakers.. and theres some really nice ones in the retro extenion too.

Yeah, I ultimately ended up going with this one. The reverb isn't TOO bad, and it blends in the mix surprisingly well. Thanks everyone!Glooper wrote:The G-town samples used to have a great egg shaker. I think they're only available over bit-torrent now... http://www.northernsounds.com/forum/sho ... hp?t=34388 . the ezdrummer latin percussion add-on has a number of different shakers on board and are top quality.
