I'd be really interested to see which are the patches that the users love the most.
So dial in here and write the name of the patch.
One of the benefits of posting this will be a gain in knowledge und understanding for Squids that can lead to even better patch selections for the coming up versions.
Please write the name of the patch as it shows up in the user interface and if you feel like it, add a statement what you like about it or why you like it.
cheers

This is an easy one for me:
1) Accoustic Grand 3 - Excellent piano either solo or in a mix. I own an expensive standalone virtual piano package, but I still reach for this one more often than not. Very frugal on CPU. (Also see SS2's Shiney Steiney and Legacy Grand).
2) Any of the 'fretless' bass patches or the 'J Bass.' Very convincing, especially with pitch bends.
3) The 'Fingered' solo guitar leads. I tend to tart 'em up a bit with added delay and reverb. But these leads have a built in 'hammer on' effect that responds to velocity. Very nice. Use it all the time.
Cheers

Two of my favorites are the Clarinet, which I think is very mellow and expressive, and the Full Cathedral Organ, which is bold and powerful.

I also like the Acoustic Grands. I spent £120 on a stanalone piano VSTI and it never gets used. The bass guitars are pretty good and I use these on all my tracks. I like the Jazz Brush kit aswell. One improvement I would like to see in Sampletank sounds is more velocity layers, especially on the Acoustic Grands. They sound a little harsh when playing Pianissimo stuff but as an overall piano sound they fit into mixes really easily and are pretty versatile. The best bit is they are extremely CPU friendly!!

I think the drum kits are pretty ace, better than most. I tend to use Funky and Groovy (off the top of my head) together and thats all i need for throwing demos together.
Theres a particular synth lead patch, I think its called Creamy Lead which gives a great 80's Prog rock lead solo sound.
The large cathedral organ is incredible
and I'm quite fond of a String Orchestra 2 (again off the top of my head) it has a good balance between sounding real and sounding fake
Sampletank is great really, a superb choice for anyone needing a nice selection of sounds to use. Its particularly handy for people like me that do a little bit of synth stuff but mostly like to use acoustic instruments and guitars.

Creamy Lead fan here too. Just the right mix of Cream + Lead.NoBrain2k wrote: Theres a particular synth lead patch, I think its called Creamy Lead which gives a great 80's Prog rock lead solo sound.

Here's my current favorites:
Bass - Muted Bass, P Bass Fingered
Piano - Acoustic Grand 3, Concert Grand Piano ST
E Piano - Smooth Stage EP, Pop Dx, 73 EPiano
Organ - B-3 Organ 1
Synth Pad - LA Dreams 2pac, SUB Sq Pad, Fat Square Pad
Synth Lead - Creamy Lead, Sine Lead
I primarily make pop/rock/R&B music and like to use real sounding instruments. Sampletank is a great source for these!
