Excuses sound hollow when you're trapped in a flimsy trailer
What if you live in a "flimsy trailer" and it is your actual house, not you're "refugee" house.

What does that say to the millions of people who actually call their "flimsy trailer" home.

hmmmmmm.

Hey that's a real logical point yeah?

You're too clever

So the next disaster that happens because the government failed to shore up levies or whatever and peoples' homes get wiped out just means we get to have even more people in flimsy trailers?

Cool :dog:

Cheers,
Alex :|

If you're relocated to city as big as Houston and can't find a job within a year, then somethings wrong and no amount of government could fix that.

I'm not advocating more people in "flimsy trailers", or poor living conditions.

just a question. an honest question.

What about those people on the street where every house was destroyed and the government will only give them 62,000 or whatever.

What are they also getting from there home insurance? Did they have insurance? Is there insurance ripping them off? If my house is destroyed I think my insurance would kick in and pay at least something.

William, you know, it's days like this ya just wanna pack up your chainsaw, a can o' petrol, some off-green housepaint, two dozen razor blades, a bag of Mr Puffy Marshmellows, a 1939 'Weird Tales' magazine, a 3-transistor radio tuned to KSOS, your blowtorch and head off into the countryside and find a medium-sized domesticated farm animal and... well, you know...

SO did YOU buy a Chrysalid CD yet? eH?

Cheers,
Alex :bang:

yes, I pre-ordered one.

I remember also donating my last bit of money in a little dish for the Red Cross for Katrina Victims at a grocery store. Then I drove my car with no heater back to my "flimsy trailer" in a trailer park on the outside of town.

House panel: Why did Google 'airbrush history?'

NEW ORLEANS, Louisiana (AP) -- Google's replacement of post-Hurricane Katrina satellite imagery on its map portal with images of the region before the storm does a "great injustice" to the storm's victims, a congressional subcommittee said.

The House Committee on Science and Technology's subcommittee on investigations and oversight on Friday asked Google Inc. Chairman and CEO Eric Schmidt to explain why his company is using the outdated imagery.

The subcommittee cited an Associated Press report on the images.

"Google's use of old imagery appears to be doing the victims of Hurricane Katrina a great injustice by airbrushing history," subcommittee chairman Brad Miller, D-North Carolina, wrote in a letter to Schmidt.

Swapping the post-Katrina images and the ruin they revealed for others showing an idyllic city dumbfounded many locals and even sparked suspicions that the company and civic leaders were conspiring to portray the area's recovery progressing better than it really is.

Andrew Kovacs, a Google spokesman, said the company had received the letter but Schmidt had no immediate response.
