Hello,

this is the complete "Arkana" (ca. 50 minutes long). Every part corresponds to one of the traditional Tarot cards ("Arkana" is the latin word for "secrets" and another word for Tarot).

The parts are continuos, maybe it's best to put all parts into a playlist. Sound quality is always a compromise, here I've used 128 kbit/s, which makes a total of 40 MB

The work is an Orchestra/Synth crossover, many sequencer-lines, classical orchestra stuff, everything is built upon two themes. Many people seem to like part 12 (Strength) very much - maybe this is a nice point to start

I'm about to listen and I can tell you, I'm quite impressed. I expected something totally different....well, what a stunning piece of music and what a work! How long did you work on it and which gear did you use?

... I am working on this one since summer 2004.

Thanks for the immediate answer, Andreas!

I'm thru and yes, you have your own signature far away from most of the music one can find here. Your use of the synths and the orchestral sounds is unique and I think it wouldn't be easy for a listener to say whether it is a real orchestra or a plug.
I could recognize some moog-sounds, but thought it was a minimoog.
Where was the Delay Lama?....I'll listen again tomorrow.

Wow. That's a lot of work writing a cycle like that.

You're right that "strenght" is a good one. It's probably also the most orchestral one?
I like the nervous lead synth in the "hanged man".

Btw, why do the tracks cut off what seems like a few seconds before the end?

There's a lot to enjoy here. Very nice work.

Yes, Strength is the most "pure" orchestral piece. But take a look at part 14 (Death) as well, it is a very calming orchestra with just al little hand drums (and small synth bass intermezzos) added. Quite relaxing.
Or part 2 (The Magician)? Exploding orchestra tutti. Or maybe part 21 (Judgement) which is a full brass fanfare (with some sequencer lines added).

Thanks. That's an Arturia Moog Modular (doesn't sound very "moogish", right?)

That's due to the fact that the tracks are no "songs", but more or less ruoghly cout out of a continuous 50-minutes piece. So the missing end should be the beginning of the subsequent track.

i will have to have a start-to-finish listen later, but from what i've heard so far (wheel of fortune, moon, strength) i must say I really enjoy the "epic" quality of the arrangements. the synthesizers sound strangely delightful on top of the more orchestral-sounding stuff. (i must say, an archive with all the parts together would be handy

)

Thank you very much! If you like Strength and Wheel Of Fortune, try part 20 - The Sun (it has a funny MS20-Sequence with quite some controller automation).
I'm thinking of an archive with all tracks...hmm...would be quite big (40 MB or so).
