I bought a downloadable sample collection. It came as an email with a link to an .rar file. When I click on the link I get some weird text in my Safari browser.
Can anyone help?

It's a compressed archive. I'm not on a mac myself, but try http://www.unrarx.com/ it's a free tool to extract rar-arcives. Or wait untill a mac expert replies

Usually, the "ctlr+click" works but it's not working on this file.
I also downloaded the unrarx program, but I need the file on my desktop before I can use that one.
Are .rar files to large to email?

Well, they can be any size, it's just a compression format.mojamusic wrote: Are .rar files to large to email?
Try copying the link into a new browser window, then hit the return key.

Yes it does, i'm surprised though to find a window plug-in compressed in a (usually) mac format...i can't tell more !androidlove wrote:the fine print said it's for mac or windows. i assumed mac has photoshop too.

If there is no way to download the file other than into your browser then do this: Allow the file to completely download into your browser, then select all of that gibberish you see on the page, copy and paste that data into a text file using the TextEdit application of Mac OS X. Once the data is copied select all of the data in the text file, go to the "Format" menu and choose "Make Plain Text", then save the file using whatever name you want. Once you're done saving add the ".rar" extension to the name of the file. That's it - unrar it using UnRarX.mojamusic wrote:Usually, the "ctlr+click" works but it's not working on this file.
