Mesdames et messieurs, anyone got around this funny world with some recording equipment as instantly a sleigh-riding people came along  ? I am in desperate need for one for a song for a kid. I found one at freesounds ( myself just having 8 or 12 GB of winter-recordings, he he, snow at 2pm, snow at 2:30, snow with more wind at 2:31... :hihi: ) but would love to get another sleigh-sample than that of the famous freesound-project that might suit better...

Just in case your harddrive has such a (self-recorded, thus free) thing, a pm or direct sending of ogg or mp3 or wav to georgfries@aol.com would be heartily welcome! I want to use the sample as it is, and mangled with the EXT2-timestretch-new-possibility, and mangled with Reaktor-ensembles, so you'd make my day, Mesdames et messieurs.

Wish I could help you, Georg.

But just wanted to say Schilttenfahrt is one of the funniest words I've seen in a long time, so thank you for posting it.

Thanks  mate - you KNOW I mis-spelled the word, it should say "SCHLITTEN" (sleigh) instead of "Schiltten", do you :hihi: ?
Now I just leave it as it is in the title, he he...

the right one, "Schlittenfahrt" is one of the words I really love (besides some other 400, usually connected with sun and snow :hihi: )

I think what you're looking for are "sleigh bells". I googled a bit and it looks like dorumalaia might have some free samples.

Victor.

I read that as "Schittenfahrt" originally. :P

thanks, mate. No, I don't search for sleigh bells (but found some myself with google, from some macromedia website and free). I need the sound a big (old) sleigh makes when it passes by, and then some additional bells on it, of course. I think I just make some strange noise and will tell later that was a real big sleigh passing by, and for the bells I have a great and rather funny sample-CD (one of the very few I bought) called "Carillon", from the guys that made "Banchetto musicale" with tons of old and funny instruments (which by the way are great too to put them in any strange sample-mangling, at least I love them much)

Thanks again!

Georg

:hihi: which would make the possibilities to get some sounds of that "Fahrt" a bit easier :hihi: (no, dear english-speaking lads, "Fahrt" doesn't mean "fart", but Schittenfahrt would be "shit-ride" or something :hihi: .

Ok. back to topic...I must start that song now, tomorrow it has to be ready for this kid...
