Is DirectWave any good?

I'm after a decent sound module, mostly for GM2 sounds. I had a look at Purity but it's overkill for what I need I think.
DirectWave looks great from the demo but I'm not sure how much I'll get in the way of usable sounds from the pack that comes with it. Since there are no reviews yet, can anyone recommend it?
Thanks.

Some of the sounds are pretty good, but there's probably more that aren't imo. It gives quite a few options if you are using your own samples. For someone just looking for sounds I wouldn't recomend it myself, but it has some good features and supports some popular formats.
The sounds it comes with are on the samplefusion site and I think you can download some if you want to see for yourself. Not 100% sure if you have to be a registered FL user to download them or not http://www.e-officedirect.com/samplefus ... rames.html
or www.samplefusion.com

Always remember that others may hate you but those who hate you don't win unless you hate them. And then you destroy yourself.

There's only a handful of samples available for the demo, some of which are pretty good IMO. What I'm really after are the lead guitar samples; there are a fair few in the 'Amped' and 'Plucked' section of DW.
I'm aware that guitar samples will never sound like a real guitar, maybe I should just stick with Slayer 2 for now.

Its still pretty young - but popped into a fairly large user group (even the people who don't buy it, can use it) this makes it a little more interesting to sample providers = possible more samples will be done for it - however if you have your own samples - mapping them into this thing is very easy, very easy indeed.
I only recently been trying it out myself, and so far pretty impressed, very cheap for what it is - but - I cannot say much about the sounds, as I have not checked them out (been more busy loading my own stuff into it and having fun) - the good news is - it has not crashed, decent quality playback, easy to program, cheap and if I wanted extra sounds - they are right there for the downloading at SampleFusion - and I would think the library will grow.
For guitar sounds, have you also checked out the vsti by ManyTone?

I have now. It looks really good, and what's more I can afford it. The only trouble is it's not the sort of thing you can demo.Spe3D wrote:For guitar sounds, have you also checked out the vsti by ManyTone?
I might just go for it.

I founf it pretty heavy on the CPU (2ghz 512ram) once I enabled the filter and modulated start and end points, but still a pretty nice sampler
