Please excuse my ignorance HG, but how do I set this up? Press a key and every sound has a weird high pitched whine in front of it. So I must have done something wrong?
I use Orion Platinum.....Dropped the DLL and the folder in my vst instrument folder, there are six files in all, the dll/manual/3 fxb files and the sf2, is this right?

Not to mention snazzy.

I suppose I should feel some guilt over a synth that allows me to touch one key and just sit there and let this wonderful sonic journey happen...

...but I don't!

Very nice work, H.G.

If you unzipped correctly, the sf2 and the banks will be in a sub-folder. Don't change that.

(I assume that OP scanned the new VST-directory already :) ).

e.g. I have:
VST plugins/HGFortune/STS-26Pro
- contains STS-26Pro.dll and manual
and
VST plugins/HGFortune/STS-26Pro/STS-26Pro
- contains SF2, fxb's (and a lot of SEM's).

yes, this is the correct placement of files.

while this might be wrong: "there are six files in all, the dll/manual/3 fxb files and the sf2, is this right?" as the subdir /STS-26Pro/ for sf2 and fxb is not listed. Also this subdir will contain some .sem and .sep files after 1st run of STS-26.

hope this clears it.

Here too. ;)

STS 26 pro is totally unplayable in my setup! When I press a key, the beginning of every sound has what I can only describe as a feedback noise, (almost like a trumpet playing) every other vst plays flawlessly.
Don't know if I got a bad download or what, but if I can't fix it, it will have to go!
Anyone got any ideas as to what is wrong?

Which setup?
