On hosts that do fast-scans (just looking for DLLs), "DirectWave VSTI.DLL" and "DirectWaveCtEngine.DLL" appear next to each other and I'm almost constantly clicking the wrong one by accident.

Can this be moved to another directory and still found by "DirectWave VSTi.DLL"?

I guess it can't be renamed without the VSTi knowing what it's called.

EDIT - arguru: If you read this, I know you're stressed about certain important issues right now and this posting definately isn't meant to sound like a complaint or criticism. It's just that DirectWave has kinda become my favourite "go to" sampler (even over K2) for most things now, so I'm coming across this other DLL quite a lot and just genuinely looking for advice on how to isolate the one I want. :)

Post

I was using eXT as my main host a while back and the extra dll was doing my head in, so i removed it. Directwave ran fine. I think it is related to the format translater, it was only a problem if I tried to convert sample presets from other formats. I don't know if that's still the case with the latest version, and eXT is not on my computer at the moment, try it and see, you can't break it.

Aha! You're right.

Interesting. Seems that it can still import soundfonts, but doesn't load my Kontakt presets without that file.

I wonder if "Ct" means "Chickensys Translator" or something. I seem to recall Kontakt/GIGA support is done by Chickensys.

Shame though, I have a lot of samples converted to .nki

Indeed, dwp (native), akai (akp) and soundfonts files are handled by DirectWave directly. The rest of formats are handled by the translator.

I'll make a workaround for next version to this problem.

Simply use a different extension for the dll (.dat or something) and let me know.

This issue is resolved in 1.26.

You absolutely rock arguru. :) Thank you so much for fixing this. Makes it much easier to "go to" my favourite "go to". :hihi:

I assume the "Directwave" link in the "My FL Studio" page will update to 1.26 when it's ready? :)
