I can not
wenn er tott ist ist er tott

It kinda sounds like you're switching wavetables or something in the middle. It is quite pronounced.

Just kidding. I don't hear any clicks in the middle either. I'm such a tease. :hihi:

Even my ears have their own limit ...

there's no click, but it changes drastically in the middle... did only hear it on the original pitch though ...
whats the reason you're asking?

I don't think "click" or "pop" is the best way to describe what's going on. It's more like a very subtle but sudden change in tone.

But yes, as you already know from the other thread, I can hear it.

i cant here shit on my PC speakers

Is this a trick question ?
I just checked it visually on Adobe Audition's spectral view.
90% of the click is above 20000 so i think 99% of people who think they can hear it are just imagining it.

Update:

Whoops... Earlier when I tried listening to the .wav file I simply played it through WinAmp without giving it a second thought. I could hear the switch very clearly there no problem.

A few moments ago I loaded the .wav into SoundForge to check out the frequency analysis, but it sounded quite different this time and I was unable to hear the switch.

Then I realised that the .wav is 32-bit and WinAmp doesn't seem to handle 32-bit very well at all. When played through WinAmp it's like there is a weird phase problem and the switch in the middle of the file becomes very obvious. Here is what it sounds like when exported via WinAmp's .wav writer plugin: http://illformed.org/downloads/waveSwitch.wav

So, nollock, sorry for the confusion earlier. I could not hear the switch in the .wav when I listened to it properly via SoundForge.

So can I ignore the ramp-down of the top harmonic as it moves up to Nyquist or not? :-)

Wavetable switching.. as the oscillator pitch bends / glides up and down switching between wavetables with different bandwidth means some harmonics jump in and out.. my theory (based on my own ears) was that as long as the harmonics comming in and out are up above 19k, or thereabouts, then people couldn't hear it.

But after a recent thread in the devs forum a couple of people were saying you would be able to hear it.. so i wanted to make sure / find out if my ears are deceiving me.

I'm going to... i'll change it once i have some complaining customers.

somthing to look forward to

Nah seriously.. that wavefile I posted had 2 semitones or 11 harmonics dropping out.. not just one harmonic..

If people cant hear that i dont think you need to worry about one or two.
