Seeing the request for additional guitar soundsets made me reflect on the wonderful quality of the sitar that was released a while back. At the time I recall there being some discussion about doing additional ethnic soundsets and making them available.
I'd just like to sound out and say that I for one would enjoy seeing this idea taken to the nth extreme in the form of a full ManyOne style ethnic instrument collection. From the popularity of these sorts of offerings with other sample producers, it certainly seems like there's a market out there.
Something to consider as you move forward with your plans after the release of ManyOne.
Kind regards - FlounderEye
Any further thoughts on more ethnic instruments?

Once I get better at Erhu I'll probably sample that... it'll take a while though. I like sampling instruments that I can play and understand. It's very different sampling someone else playing an instrument--you wouldn't have a good idea of what articulations to sample and what little idioms of the instrument there are.
But yeah, I have ideas for more different instruments to sample.

Hi FlounderEye
Thanks for the comments on the Sitar. I appreciate that you are enjoying it.
Greg summed up a good point of how we work here, and that is, that we sample the player, as well as the instrument. So to do any instrument properly, it takes both to capture a sample collection as best as we can. When either Greg or I come across these players, you can bet we both make every effort we can to get some decent samples, but an understanding of the playing and articulations etc. is important.
So over time you may see some more ethnic instruments from us. I also want to see what becomes of the promised Bitr Ethnic release, as they will have some stuff covered.
I think from us though, if we do release more Ethnic instruments, you will see single instruments or small collections of instruments, containing more detailed sets than what is typically out there. I can't wait myself to work on more Ethnic stuff.
