Yo y'all:

Texas Music Forge is about to release a series of new loop and sample packages which feature the Dobro. We have put together a free zip file of 8.5 Mb for our brothers and sisters in the KVR community which you can download at:

The pack contains 4 .wav files of a beautiful custom-built lap resonator Dobro guitar recorded with a large diaphragm condenser mic. These samples are from our first package, called Cinematic. Cinematic contains 17 sonically lush .wav files of solo Dobro mood, texture and atmosphere for your movie scoring, podcast, TV or radio production. Cinematic will be available for the musician-friendly price of $7.50 through our partners at LoopLibrary.com.

Follow-up Dobro packages will include one for pop, country and rock production and another intended for hip hop, downtempo and dance music.

As always, you're free to use these in your commercial or private music production, but including these files in any sample collection for sale is prohibited and will get you tied up and dragged behind my horse.

Well.....I usually use the Wagner passage from "Apocalypse Now" for that, but a Sergio Leone spaghetti western soundtrack approach might make for a little variety, eh?

Addendum to this thread:

We have formally released the "SlideShow" dobro library sets on LoopLibrary. In addition to the "Cinematic" set mentioned above, we have also released "DobroVille," a set of 17 .wav files in A, A minor, C, F, D and G which will add tone and texture to your Americana, country, rock, hip hop, downtempo, pop, folk or bluegrass recordings. Like "Cinematic" and the rest of the sets in the SlideShow series, DobroVille is priced at a very musician-friendly $7.50. You can find all of our sets at:

I'll post another free .zip from DobroVille sometime before the end of the year here for all our fellow residents of Planet KVR to download.

Many thanks for the kind words, y'all. I think we can do a bundle price on the entire Slowhand library of $50. That's a $10 discount for the entire collection of 8 loop sets. I'll have to get with our partners at LoopLibrary to set this up this week.

Slowhand, if I may be permitted a quick word of explanation here, is my old-skool funk guitar library. Each set contains 15-20 separate loops. Samples were recorded at 90 bpm in the keys of A, C, D, E, F, Bb and G and all keys come with multiple loops in both major and minor. It can be found at the LoopLibrary link carried previously in this thread.

In the meantime, I'll be posting notice here this week about a second free .zip file download of dobro-licious .wav files from SlideShow. I owe a lot to the freeware music community in general and the residents here on KVR in particular. I appreciate your support and the opportunity to give something back to all my fellow beat divas.

This free 3.5 Mb .zip file contains three .wav files from DobroVille in the keys of G, A minor and C. These, like the rest of DobroVille, were recorded at 100 bpm and are good for you Americana, country, rock and pop tunesmiths/producers.

Also, since we had a request in this thread to make all of the SlowHand funk guitar library available at a discount, it's now available for $50 USD through our partners at LoopLibrary. The link is:

Extremely cool stuff!
Instant angsty/90s road movie feel when played back at lower pitches. I manipulated the sample start points while playing, endless bliss!
