I'm searching for a MIDI version of this loop: http://media.putfile.com/beat-53
It's a well known beat, but I can't seem to nail the hats. I've tried quantizing numerous times but I can't get it down perfectly. Anyone know if this loop is somewhere available in MIDI?
btw, I've heard that this beat was made on a TR909, but there a quick open hi hat there which I can't find a 909 sample of.
This sample in MIDI

If a half open synthy hat is one of the things you need, the Dec. 2006 issue of Virtual Intruments Magazine has a fairly long article on making just that with the free subtractive synthesis program, Synth1 (among other synthy percussion, in more than one issue).

Put the file on an audio track, you'll probaly see the hihat positions clearly? Just put your midi hihat in the same positions.vikernes wrote:I'm searching for a MIDI version of this loop: http://media.putfile.com/beat-53

IMHO: Hihat and snare doesn't sound like a 909.. hihat more 808ish, but not quite..
