I'm looking to get into getting some loop libraries. It's getting to a point where I just don't have the time to make every drum loop from scratch and I wouldn't even mind supplementing some of my music with other melodic intrument loops if there really good too. I'm planning on buying a good amount to get going started and I want to what are the best companies for this sort of thing. I'm looking for quality and quantity here folks.
I'm using logic 7 and I just bough stylus RMX so REX files are choice. Apple Loops are cool too with Logic especially for the melodic content.
thanks in advance for all your wonderful and brilliant input.

When you're finished with Stylus RMX and all the Xpanders, ask the same question again:D. I only have the core set of Stylus RMX, and I'm not sure if I evern *need* others. Of course I do have others, because I like collecting them, but not because there's a real need

I agree stylus RMX is a great place to start. I have some of the Xpanders as well. My library goes much farther beyond that as well though. I have libraries from Big Fish, Ueberschall, and Zero-G. Out of these though Big Fish is where I get most of my content. I haven't found any other company that puts out the quantity quality of material as they do. I buy loops in a lot of styles too and they pretty much have anything. Also since you are cool with appleloops they have those too. It seems like every library they have comes with Wav, REX and apple loops. So I like to use the percussion in RMX and use apple Loops for a lot of my melodic type loops. Is there any specific styles of music you are looking for? Let me know and I can maybe give you some titles of products that would be cool.

Two site with mostly download loop packages (AFAIK focussed on ACID format, but that's the only one I look for), are acidfanatic.com and peaceloveproductions.com. For blues/rock/pop loops, you could look at betamonkey.com.
But still: First discover and use what you already have now...

The best sounds I have are from Equipped Music (formelly known as e-lab), very high quality loops in rex2 & 24bits wav formats:
http://www.equippedmusic.se/
They have music loops with all the seperated elements (bass, drums, hi-hats, guitars or keys, etc...), so very usefull, try the demos & you'll understand!

thanks for all the help and direction. Dmichaels your right Big Fish has a ton of material for RMX including the Smokers products and the other equipped music stuff. Those sound great. It looks like this site has about 100 products that work with RMX so I'm pretty excited to start building up my library. I was actually on this site about a month ago for the first time bying a VI withouth even realizing they had all this other stuff.
Who sells Ueverschall in the states? I can't find there distributor.
Hey Bigg John do you have any demos of your stuff online?
And My final thought to Mr. Tunes is that from listening to the demos Smokers relight and Smokers Delight seem like the style is the same but it's just more content. Smokers relight must have a ton more content than the first one though becuase it's twice the price. Actually I just checked and it's 2 DVD's and says it has 7GB so that's quite a bit of stuff.
I'm out.

On the looplibrary homepage, toward the bottom, look for the FREE Loops Mailing List. We'll send you an email link to the free loops for you to download at your convenience.
