Hi everyone. I'm very interested in tablet2midi, and would like to use it with a tablet PC. I was about to buy it, until I tried the demo and ran into a few issues..

First, I have the problem of the pen going out of the tablet2midi window when i'm not in 'mouse mode,' so I have to restrict the controls to the area of the t2m window where it doesn't leave the window, which feels strange and counter-intuitive.

When I'm using t2m *not* in mouse mode, the pen still controls the mouse pointer, so sometimes I end up resizing and dragging around the objects in the t2m window.

If I try to use mouse mode, I no longer have pressure sensitivity with the pen, which is a bummer.

When I change screen orientation on the tablet PC it also inverts the values the pen sends to tablet2midi (I usually use the opposite orientation that tablet2midi expects when i'm working on music with my tablet pc).

Anyway, this looks like fantastic software! I just wish there were some sort of "tablet pc compatibility mode" or something of the sort. I think that if there was just a fullscreen mode, then it would probably solve all these issues! I looked through the manual but didnt see the 'fullscreen' option. :(

could this be implemented please?

Thanks!

Sounds like the first two issues are related: the pen is controlling the mouse pointer so you get unwanted mouseclicks and drags that ruin all the fun :-( Now there should be a way to disable that temporarily, I'll have to check the microsoft tablet pc documentation. Do you have some kind of setting in your windows control panel to do this? That could be a workaround until I learn more about the tablet PC edition of windows.

You might be right about the full screen mode though - might actually be better than disabling the pen as a mouse pointer.

I've been wanting a scalable interface anyways, so fullscreen sounds like the thing. you woudln't be able to work in other apps while in fullscreen mode though.

the sexiest solution would probably be to attach a separate mouse, let the pen run seperately from the mouse pointer, and have tablet 2 midi run as a semi transparent window in full screen.

Worth a look. I'll keep you posted here and / or on the livelab.dk website.

at the time I was demoing tablet2midi I had a usb mouse hooked up to my computer, though I couldn't figure out how to separate the action of the two. This could be difficult and/or impossible :(. The fullscreen mode is cool, though, I'm perfectly fine with the alt+tab usability, though the pressure sensitivity is something I would like to make sure to have. I was unable to find any way to turn off the mouse or the tablet pen. I am using the wacom penabled driver,

http://www.wacom.com/tabletpc/driver.cfm

but the special wacom control panel has no way to fix this.

Anyway, thanks for the reply, I hope there is some simple solution for this.

thanks!
