I am Buying Storm Drum, The sounds are awesome. My Question is, what are the advantages of having it in the vst plugin format with Kontakt instead of just having the sounds in audio sample format
such as wave or whatever?

It really depends on if you have a decent sampler already. Kontakt is included in case someone interested in the samples doesnt have anyhting to use them with.

i find that samplers are great for loops, instrument sounds etc... but for atmospheric sounds and stinger wooshes etc, they're only good for finding the right pitch of the sample and then it's best to render them so you can place the sounds on the timeline easier. otherwise with midi you are just guessing when the sound effect will hit its climax

Storm Drums is a protected format and will not be in an audio sample format - that's the reason for the kompakt and intakt instruments - mostly for copy protection.

Any sampler you know of that comes close with "for atmospheric sounds and stinger wooshes etc"? I gave up years ago with that but maybe things have changed?
