I just had a play through these - it's a superb bank, thanks Urs and Howard!

It's always a good sign when stepping through a bank of presets takes *ages* 'cos you keep wanting to play and play each sound.

I particularly like that most of the patches are constructed without too many modules, so most of the sounds are pretty processor light, even on my G4. It just goes to show what can be done with not many source elements and some talent! ;)

Another great thing is the playability of the patches - they have been obviously made by someone who likes to play, and the expression in the velocity and modwheel is very nice. Definitely a player's bank, and it's a nice change from all the wacky or tarncey stuff you get in modern synths these days.

This bank definitely had some  and some  and some :D and some 8) moments for me - real quality, and definitely shows some sides of Zebra that haven't been heard before.

I particularly liked some of the leads and Moogy basses, and the organic comb filterey stuff, and the arpegs are fun fun fun too.

For anyone that's demo'd Z2 in the past without buying, grab this bank and take another demo with Howard's sounds, and see if it changes your opinion at all... ;)

Thanks and Happy Holidays Everyone!

I'll echo the above - some very payable patches and often with few modules, so light on the cpu.

But none have XY assignments! Urs - time to get your scripting up and running!

Yes

Well, most patches are 1:1 recreations of what Howard likes to play on stage. So I guess he thought it didn't make much sense to add any extra tweakability. Nevertheless, a few scripts may come soon... after finishing the updates and the new filter types (for which I'll ask Howard to make a couple of extra patches 8) )

Later,

;) Urs

Sorry about that. Urs asked me to assign X/Y - I refused point blank. My excuse is that I'm rather allergic to adding stuff I see as superfluous. Can't help it.

I'm not saying the X/Y controls aren't a great feature of Zebra2 (they are), it's just that I personally have no use for them because I always want to control everything live: notes + expression. So, as Urs and Beej said, it turned out to be a players' bank.

Happy Whatevermas and a Sproutless New Year to all Zebra2 users. I must say Z2 is a fantastic synth, at least on a par with the Access Virus. I'm in love...

Joining the chorus: thank you very much indeed, Urs and Howard - these patches not only show off the capability of Zebra 2, but many are pure inspiration, giving unannounced birth to fresh phrases and surprising song ideas.

Thanks again and A Merry Christmas!
