exactly. Its kind of like some weird PARADOX. the people that are theory heads love to believe that just because someone doesnt think theory is a god/porn/vagina that they are just insecure they have no ability when in reality they just are trying to balance theory with emotion and feeling.

I don't think I am clutching at anything ... really; just giving an opinion, when I should know better.

Because threads like this and the Nexus one (and goodness knows how ever many other ones) just show that some people simply 'hang out' (here) waiting to solicitate their own interpretation of what is often a very straightfoward comment.

I simply stated that 'theory' comes with practice; practice creates experience which translates to knowledge.

Knowledge doesn't exist in a vacuum.

why are people who don't study classical theory ignorant? most musicians know enough theory to make nice music for themselves. the world is full of new ideas, methods and technology. i couldn't possibly know "everything" i need to know at any given moment, but i am able to use books, internet, etc to reference info when needed.

nuffink, you are continually stuck up and boring at the same time. perhaps you should stop being insulting to those that "know less than you". i don't think anyone here feels blissful in their ignorance, as you put it. and i think most people here are happy to learn all kinds of different methods and theory. are you? seems like you are continually stuck on the same topic. i guess your plug is just not selling well and this is a way for you to blow off steam.
