Someone posted a neuro-musicology lecture the other day; the speaker mentioned the theory that "experts" have typically been seen to practice 10,000 hours at their craft. (Example: Mozart. Yes, he was writing stuff by the age of 4, but it's not terribly memorable; his good stuff came after he'd put in lots of time.)original flipper wrote:This is the important factor. Being a "natural" gets you only so far. Just hard practice is a large part of the story.
