aight i have highlife...i got a multisampled guitar kit from somewhere in .wav format....i wanna map it out to the keys.....never mapped out instruments before, aside from drag and drop on the FPC in fruity loops...

If you're looking for a free sampler to map it out in then try Paax Free. I've always found it really quick and simple to use and there is a pretty decent manual on how to use it as well.

Yeah you have highlife it maps samples just fine.
I think you need to check program midi zone follow in the options,or maybe it default drum map ,lol I just figured it out haha.I turned both on.
1 of 'em does the trick I know hehe.

aight, i got the samples mapped out correctly, but now im having another problem, and by the way i used Highlife....but anyway, the release isnt working correctly, the samples just keep on going after i let go of the keys...which is fine for certain sample sets, but in this case, im using a guitar like i mentioned earlier, and its not sounding how i want without it releasing...

??? is this a bug in Highlife, or am i screwin up somehow???

actually, the whole envelope in Highlife is kinda screwy....i solved the problem of the release, well sort of, i simply put it into mono mode...but it sounded like crap that way, and had a lot of clicks every time i hit a new note....so my solution to that was to adjust the attack, but then that didnt work!!!!

i decided to try the paax sampler...but i wasnt too fond of it...id like to stick with highlife, if theres a way around all of this...

anyone???

if you have it as a drum map chances are it defaults to playing the sample until the end, which is meant for drum programs...

As mw said, you have to check the loop mode in the sample editor. This setting is for each sample and for regular samples just set it to no loop or off.

need a decent VST sampler...or some directions
