Wav importing

While playing around with the demo version of Toxic 3(enough to make me buy it!) I realised I could load in my own wavs, replacing the basic operators. I have a couple of questions:-

Does this mean I can use sample loops I created instead of the usual square/saw waveforms, or does this mean Toxic requires a specific length/format wave-form file? So far I've not got it to recognise any Custom wavs I've loaded at all.

Any advice?
