Hi there,
After i succesfully installed and authorized Ampeg SVX i downloaded and installed the 1.1 update.
Problem is,it doest accept the authorization code i got for the first installation and i have to request a new one!
Well,as the limit is 4 authorizations(can someone please explain the logic(!?!) behing this? :x ) i refuse to do so!!
This is exactly the same thing that happened with the Amplitube2.1 update where another authorization code went to waste. :?
Is there a way to use the original authorization on the update and how?

The way I understand it, you get one auth for the dongle (version 1.0) and three auths for the 1.1 version - same as IK gives for other C/R-protected products. So effectively, you're starting off as if you were on 1.1 with no auths used.

You can't use the dongle auth code for version 1.1, that's why you have to request a new auth.

Yes i thought about this too,i guess i just needed a confirmation..
BUT WHY should we be limited to another 3 authorizations only?
I think u can have 5 with Amplitube 2...
Again why the limit anyway?What if i want to get another computer or use a laptop or use it in another partition or...(u get my point).

The three auths are the "automatic" ones - ie you don't have to ask for them in advance, you can just grab one. You can get more on request. If you know you're getting a new computer and that you've already used your first three auths, you can ask for another one beforehand and it'll be ready for your install.

One of the Amplitube2 auths is for the dongle, as for Ampeg. I have no idea whether they allow 4 or 5 (I would be surprised if it's the latter, based on my earlier answer). It'll be the same for me when I upgrade Philharmonik to 1.1 - one for the (now-defunct) dongle and one for the same machine via C/R copy protection, but I'll still have two more automatic auths for a new machine, hard drive crash or upgrade, etc.

Oh,NOW i get it...
I thought that if u run out of auth codes u can't use the software and i freaked out!
