Hi all, Before I shell out my hard earned to East West, Are there any decent orchestra/brass samples out there for free?

I have a reasonable collection but am about to scrub it as the quality/versatility is a little sad.

Legal sites only please.

search the forum for "arwa". He will put out a brass plugin, hopefully in Feb 2007, that should be awesome and will also be released as a slightly limited free version. A woodwind plugin will follow.

Somewhere a guy put together a list of the best orchestra soundfonts. I can't remember the name and I don't know where the link is, but it's worth digging for if you have the time. You'll know it when you find it!

You won't regret the EW. I used to scrounge for orchestra samples as well. I love EW, although I will admit that I have really changed my writing/arranging style to fit EW samples to make it sound as good as possible. It does the 'hollywood' style sound really well.

I hate to say it, but You'll find yourself going for StormDrum and Voices of the Apocalypse as well after getting EW orchestra :)

If you had Gigastudio/GVI or kontakt, I'd recommend Kirk Hunter's Emerald.
