Advice needed about Prominy LPC Guitar libs

I'm a keyboard player and can't play a guitar worth a lick; consequently, I'm looking at the Prominy libs for elec guitar. My question is this: What is the point of the Distortion library?
I have no doubt the quality of it is very good, but what does it have that I can't get from their Clean lib and an amp sim (like maybe Freeamp2)? Also, going the amp sim route, doesn't that give me more flexibility with the sound? I'm assuming the distortion was sampled with the guitar setup they used - or is that wrong?
Obviously, if I had the bucks, I'd buy both, but I can only afford one now, so before I opt for the Clean library, I just wanted to hear from users who might have a different perspective on this.
TIA,
JD

...if you take a look at the descriptions of the various demos for the LPC you'll recognise that a lot of them have been played with the clean version and either Guitar Rig or Amplitube or a Pod - so I think it proves that there isn't really worth buying the distorted version...

Thanks, loachm. That's what I suspected.
I'll be ordering their clean lib now along with the optional "air guitar" for full effect.
Thanks again,
JD

Although it probably makes sense to to get the clean version if you are only getting one, there are some benefits of getting the distorted also.
1. Some people think the sound of the actual distorted guitar cannot be matched by an amp sim.
2. If you like the distorted sound, it uses less CPU.
3. Using it along with the clean, though an amp sim, is a nice way of adding fullness to the guitar sound without worrying about wave cancellation.
4. I think the distorted version with additional distortion gets you some sounds that cannot be obtained solely by amping the clean version.
