Hi brouculy, just saw your purchase go though. Thank you.brouculy wrote:Hi, AQ,
Today I just bought Poly-Ana and played in my host program, Orion Platinum. I found some problem with Orion Platinum. When I play Poly-Ana, especially with the preset, '106-uni Bass', CPU goes up to 100% then It stops. With some other presets, it goes same. I don't know why.
You can test it with demo-version of Orion Platinum at http://www.synapse-audio.com
Thanks in advance
Will try the Orion demo but it's possible that you're just reaching the CPU limit for your machine. What kind of platform are you on? (please include CPU type, CPU speed, FSB speed, and RAM speed) You can verify by reducing the number of voices used by the "106-Uni Bass" patch. Just turn the Polyphony knob down from 6 (which is a pretty agressive unison polyphony!) to a lower value. 4 should give you pretty much the same sound.
I'm having no problem reaching 6 voice polyphony on my 5 year old P4, 3 GHz, 533 MHz FSB, 533 MHz RAM (dual channel 233). In fact, Poly-Ana version 3.0 gives me at least 8 voices. And I'm up to nearly 12 in the upcoming version 0.40. Had hoped to have this out for the end of the week, sorry it's been a bit delayed as I'm adding some new bug fixes to address the stuff marvotron pointed out, above. But the longer wait also means you're getting more features and fixes so hang in there, 0.40 will be out any day now and that may just give you enough performance to play 6 voices at once.
Let me know what your machine spec is, and if there's anything I can do to help. I will get a demo of Orion ASAP and doublecheck that it's not a problem with that host, but I'm guessing it's just CPU use. Do you have any other VST hosts you could try it in to let me know if you get better or worse performance?
Thanks!
