simply put,
this is the best filter I've heard, analog or digital.

a related question, (not to the bbq and mayo, mind)
aciddose,
I understand your filter is some kind of unorthodox new design. With that in mind, a simplistic 4 (or something) band parametric EQ (with shelfs and bell + the rest of the already existing stuff) with this algorithm would possibly be the only EQ I would ever think to use. The filter just sounds so dang good.
I think would be close to trivial to implement (since I can already do it with simple summing networks)? any plans?

thanks aciddose.
great filter.
+1 for a stereo version.
one little question
after lookin' at yr '/temp/public/' folder:
what's the difference between filter1 & filter2?
again great thanks.
love the gate...
cheers,

tried it on a whole mix at first, and tbh honest, it sounded like shit whatever settings/modulation i tried...
BUT on individual elements it showed A LOT of characters, very 303ish, and i thought that was great. I have fabfilter volcano which is great, but this is very different and will get a lot of use here.
So it's a masive +1 for a stereo version !

i'll be making an improved version later when i have time for it of course. like i said the whole effects set will get an upgrade and this filter will be part of it.
i'm not sure exactly what i changed between 1 and 2, but 2 is newer, a higher version and you should most likely be using it unless you find some specific reason to use an older version.
here is a stereo version..
http://xhip.cjb.net/temp/public/xhipeff ... ter_v3.dll
xhip saw+subsquare -> mdelay -> filter
http://xhip.cjb.net/temp/public/stereoe ... filter.mp3
the envelope follower is still shared, it wouldnt make much sense to make that stereo. if you want 100% stereo just use two instances of the plugin. in the future i'll add it as an option but no more fiddling with this for now.

brilliant, thanks for these top quality plugs
this filter is going to be used quite alot, and fyi i use xhipsynth alot but also often the chorus, phaser and reverb in the xhip effects pack aswell!
will your plugins remain free?

in the current state of course. i may decide to ask something for them if i create a pack with guis or more advanced features. there will always remain the set of basic guiless effects though and i'll give those out for free. those are the ones which are really worth using.
likewise for xhip, it'll remain free until such time as so much work has gone into it that it really deserves to be worth something. the version as it is now though will always remain free into the future as i improve it.
think of it this way too; some people wont even use free software. "ew! free software? there must be something wrong with it!".. people figure it must be sub-par, they try to rationalize "why is this free?".. so, i'll be grabbing larger market share by providing a version for sale. obviously i wont be able to sell one version of the same thing while giving another away for free so there will be minor differences. if anyone really wanted those minor differences though they should just come up with the 20 bucks or whatever. i'd suspect most of you guys here on kvr would just donate that kind of cash if i were making it possible, a lot of individuals have asked me over time actually.
so, think of it as an opportunity to donate and get something in return at the same time, i guess.
this is of course assuming i'll ever bother to do this though.. which isnt extremely likely.
