anyone have them or own the old 80's craptastic synth to sample the sounds at all? i'd be willing to pay. it was my first synthesizer as a kid so i have fond memories of it. i found the drum samples for it, but that's it.

more info here:

bought the 'mega drum machine samples' off of ebay for $15 and it had the drums in :)

i'd like to buy this and sample it myself just for sentimental reasons. it made horrible sounds, but i miss them.

thanks in advance.

i love anything with "casio" on it

I'm not sure if you want to own one again, but I just did a quick search on ebay for "mt-500" and found a few. One is at 9.99 and the others are at $20, so I would imagine you could win with a bid of about 25-30.

If it was your first synth, you might enjoy the real deal again.

Good luck! :)

nice i put a bid on one of them. if i win, i'll sample the thing and put up the samples for download. i might be able to convince one of the people i've collabed with on in the past to do a vsti :)

i love cheezy oldschool stuff like this. it'd be fun to use again in a virtual studio configuration.

i great vintage casio sampling effort is needed. i only have a ctk-611 (i had sooooo many) so that leaves me out

i still got my MT-65,used it a lot bac in the day, very special, love the piano, but would be a mare to sample, especially with it's modulation options. :o and all the rhythms, chords and basslines.maybe one day.
it would be better if someone could get to the bottom of what made the casiotone circuitry sounds so fine!
the new VL-tone emu is very good.

Oh, I see that someone is having dreams about casio....

That is a MT-500, its probably mid 80's, and it might not be analog either....mmmm...not good. I do remember they had few small white ones whith automation and memory rom. They had the sk1 sampling keyboard that could sample and record a whole track, but too much of a toy.

The earlier you go whith Casio the more likely you might have something you can actualy use, like befor they got too smart. :D

Iv got right here a genuine Casio MT-68. Its got one speaker, a bit of yucky acompanyment(base, chord, arpeggio), its got 20 sounds whith modulation switch and reverb/vibrato switches and drums(rock, pop, latin swing, tango ....ect). There is whole story whith the drum side in these types of thing, cause they seem to use the same styles that nobody can make sense of. I sampled mine and it sounds good... :D You can get casio sounding like a real fully fledge synth.. :D

I used to have a few samples of casio MT-750 that I used in protracker modules on the amiga - so real lo-fi...

If you go to my site and luck on the page called stuff you can download a number of modules that feature some of those samples amongst others and you should be able to get the samples out using modplug or Awave...
Have a better one - Saul Cross :-)

All these sound a bit too advanced for me. After I grew out of my VL-Tone I bought a Casiotone MT-30: 22 sounds, no rhythms, no bass. I later upgraded to a CT-202, which was similar but with four full-size octaves, and 49 sounds! I'd love to get my hands on either of these again...
Pithy apothegm goeth here...
