No way.. 
I knew he was constantly struggling with leukemia, but now it's actually taken away this immense talent and advocate of virtual wind instrument and sound synthesis (Akai EWI player).
I'm dismayed and disheartened.
MY thoughts are with his family. I will be having a 'Brecker' night on YouTube this evening in remembrance of the great talent.

Sorry to hear that.
He got one of the most energetic tenor sounds I have ever heard. I love that sound. I love those melodies.

Here's a little Brecker doing Sonny Rollins' "Oleo" back in his younger days. It was well known that his illness was serious but he was a journeyman who was always performing and recording and will surely be missed.
