Hi,

I would like to have some suggestion about available samplepacks with vocals, both commercial and free. I was looking expecially for rnb and hip hop stuff, but every suggestion will be appreciated. Also nice speech stuff is welcome.

Thanks in advance

There are a lot of vocal sample cd's available you can try
http://www.e-officedirect.com/samplefus ... rames.html or
http://www.sonymediasoftware.com/loop_l ... asp?cid=16
http://acidplanet.com has sample packs and check out there contests page, they have complete songs with vocals ready for your remix. Hope that helps.

Thanks, it helps :)

I was looking also for some specifically downloadable packs. I see that there are some downloadables in your links too.

Thanks again

Luca:

I have three volumes of a vocal sample set called "Man of the House" available for download from LoopLibrary at the musician-friendly price of $5.00 USD per set. From their website:

The Man of the House vocal sample sets are primarily intended for use in dance music production and were recorded at 140 bpm, a perfect tempo for house, techno and other dance music styles.

There are 29 vocal samples in each set. They feature a full-throated male vocal style reminiscent of such classic soul/R&B singers as Ray Charles, Joe Cocker, Otis Redding and David Ruffin.

Ed's samples on our site are great!

But, we have plenty of other vocal samples on the site as well if you are looking for something different. Check out the female vocals category to find several loop and sample packs from several different female vocalists. They include several that have sexy talking phrases as well as general vocalizations.

Cool, I will check this link out. I really need some "royalty-free" vocal samples. I don't feel asking for permission to sample well known works anymore than I have to now.

Wow, that's $400. That's a little bit out of my range, but that it a lot of samples.

Sometimes I dream of getting a job where I "have" to purchase this library....

Vocal planet is definitely cool... very wide variety of samples on there, and I know and have worked with several of the session vocalists who appear on the disc.

I built a whole song around one set of Classical Indian type vocal samples from that disc... but, other than that one song, I haven't used the collection for anything else. I've tried to fit some of the samples into other songs I worked on in the past, but it's definitely easier to find vocal samples that inspire something first and build a song around them, than to try to fit vocal samples into an existing song.

That's one of the reasons I started collecting vocal samples from a wide variety of singers and voice artists... first, I need stuff that would fit into some "erotic" music & video stuff I was producing, and I thought it would be good to put them out through my LoopLibrary.com site, and eventually they will come out on a Performance Loops DVD through Big Fish Audio. I concentrated more on sexy spoken phrases, and more generic vocalisations (oohs, ahhs, etc.) that could more easily fit into electronic music productions.

But, yes, the Vocal Planet stuff is great and I need to dig my copy up again and go through it to get some inspiration for some new stuff soon. Even though it's not cheap, the one song that I used vocal samples from Vocal Planet in has done well for me with digital downloads, on my own CDs and DVDs, and has been licensed for a couple of small indy films.
